Pictures from Darjeeling
As much as we're enjoying Delhi so far, I can't say to much for the internet connections. Still, you're worth it, so after a few hours of work, here are some images of West Bengal to keep you up to date. Enjoy!

Celebrations of the Durga Puja holiday hit a feverish pitch in Kolkata. Or so we're told -- this mini-parade, and dozens like it, filled the streets of Darjeeling.

The trailhead of the Singalila Ridge trail on the Nepal-India border.

We met this kitten in one of the numerous tea houses on the Singalila Ridge trail.

A cold, dark dinner in one of the trekkers huts. Service and food get a C, but the place got an A for ambiance.

Sunrise in Sandakphu, with Mt. Khangchendzonga in the background. Also visible from here is Mt. Everest, but it doesn't look as impressive from this far off.

Our last day of the trek.

A souvenir of the trek: the very big, very gross tick we found on Marita's back.

One for the road: even the locals in the hills love the governor of California.

Very agricultural! You have to love things that form an attachment to you and expect you to take them around the world. Ours was a cow pez dispenser. Hope you are both enjoying the trip, Love Ash and Sue
